When I was around 14 years old my dad became the pastor of a tiny little church in the middle of nowhere. It was home to the sweetest and most loving group of people that you could ask for. Among those was a girl who was close to my age. Her name was Tracie. She and I became fast friends. Fast forward many years and we are still good friends. I consider her my best friend. One of the many things we have in common is photography. She has been shooting a lot longer than I have though. She started out with film. I consider her a true artist. She has taken my family photos before and given lots of advice and even talked me out of putting down my camera. And for that, I am truly grateful.
The reason this post is titled “12 Years a Bride” is because Tracie has been married to her husband, T.J., for twelve years. But unfortunately she didn’t get any bridal photos and her wedding day was so crazy and she was very rushed. I was more than happy to give her what she missed out on all those years ago. And to top it off, she still fits in her dress. A dress that I consider beautiful, timeless, and classic.
Tracie, thank you for letting me photograph you. I hope that T.J. is surprised and blown away by your beauty. Thank you for always answering my questions and for your honesty! You are a treasure!
This is the reaction that you get when you show your beautiful friend, (who doesn’t know how beautiful she is) her photo and she is overcome with emotion instantly. I cried too.
I truly can’t wait to hear what T.J. thinks.
