Hermitage, AR Engagement Session: Matthew and Annslie

There are times in life when we get to know people when we are young. Then you lose track of them and then later in your life, they are back. For some people it’s family and for others, it’s friends. That’s the way it was with Annslie and I. She and I first met when were around eight. Then, because of moving around with my family, I lost track of her. Around ten or eleven years ago, my husband and I moved back to where I am from. Probably five years after that, I saw her across the room in a restaurant, but I didn’t say hi because I didn’t think she would remember me. I have a bad habit of doing that. Then a couple of years after that, she was at a mutual friends house and she did remember me. She is a blessing and I’m blessed to know her.
A little while ago I was on scrolling on Facebook and came across Annslie’s post where she was announcing her engagement. I was very excited for her. I hadn’t gotten to meet Matthew at that point, but I figured, I would soon. Then I got asked to shoot the wedding. When I met him, I figured out that he was the perfect match for her. Annslie is a very outgoing person and Matthew is quiet and reserved. The saying, opposites attract, proved to be true. I asked Annslie how she felt when they met and she said, she knew she loved him when she didn’t want to spend another minute without him. Now that, I’d say, is true love.

Annslie and Matthew, thank you for letting me be apart of these life changing events. I’m so excited and happy for both of you. I’m glad that you have both found your one and only.

Warren Family Session: Gorman Family

I love getting to meet new families. It’s one of the highlights of my job. I recieved a message from Stacey right before Christmas about getting some photos for her daughter who was turning one. But also doing a few family shots. We decided to wait until after the New Year due to busy schedules. New Year’s came and went and it was time for Stacey and Brandon’s session. They attend one of the local churches in my town, so they had met a couple of my kiddos. And as soon as I met both of them, I felt like I had already known them. The day of the shoot, it was chilly and cloudy and it threatened to rain. We decided to go ahead and see what we could get. Let me tell you we had to work quick. It sprinkled on and off and after about ten minutes of trying, we all thought it would be best if we tried again the next day. I met them at their house and the weather was perfect. I got some great shots. The kids were a dream to work with and it was so much fun. They both kept me laughing. I am thankful that it worked out the way it did and greatful that I got to meet such a fun family.

Brandon, Stacey, Grayson, and Landry, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your beautiful family. It was an honor and I hope our paths cross again in the future.

If you look close, you can see sprinkles of rain in the background of the kids photo

Dunaway/West/Glosup

Have you ever had a group of friends who are more like family than friends? I have. I have always considered the moms of these kids my sisters. I love them very much and I consider their kids as nieces and nephews. Everytime I get to take their photos, it’s an honor. They could ask anyone and they always choose to ask me. This instance was no different. Kate, (the oldest), asked me to take some photos as a gift for her mom. I told her to bring all of her cousins along so that we could get an updated photo of all of them. It turned out very well and I’ve been waiting since before Christmas to post them.
Kate, Klayton, Maddie, Kylie, Ryder, and Austen, I love you like you are my own. And I always will.

Warren Family Session: Cathey Family

I have four children. Saying that my house is busy is an understatement. Three of my children are boys, so I can heavily identify with this family. Meet the Cathey family. I’ve posted about them before, but it wasn’t the whole family. This time everyone got in on the action. I had such a good time with them. The boys are a hoot! Joey and Cassidy have a beautiful house, so it wasn’t even a question if I was going to use it in the background. Before I got there, I knew I would. There were a couple of Bradford Pear trees starting to turn and they were a lovely Ombre’. Then, as we were finishing up, Cassidy suggested the pond out beside their house. It was ideal. As we drove through the trees, the pond came into view and it looked like a mirror. The water was absolutely still and it was a sublime backdrop. We didn’t drive very far before I figured out exactly which spot I would use. It couldn’t have been any better if I had walked out there a few hours in advance and planned it.

Joey and Cassidy, thank you for allowing me to capture your family! It was an honor!

Warren Family Session: Clark Family

First I had the pleasure of shooting Justin and Selena’s engagement, and then thier wedding. Last week Selena wrote me on Facebook and asked me to book a family session for them. We met on the 3rd and got it done. It’s always fun when I do any photos with this family. Ace is a ball of energy and I mean that in a good way. He kept me on my toes, but was very compliant and gave me a great smile. It was easy to make him laugh. And then there’s Baby Ali, who will be here very, very soon. I think Selena has around 10 weeks left. She is a beautiful pregnant person. She glows with happiness and excitement. The Clark family is a great family and I am honored to know them. I can’t wait to meet Baby Ali when she gets here.

A Family Session: Jeremy, Jessica, and Jayda

This time of the year is probably my busiest and the request I get the most is for family sessions. I love taking advantage of that request. It’s my opportunity to show a family how great they look. To show how much they love one another and a lot of times, it’s a chance for mom and dad to get some photos of just them, after we take group photos. Some of them haven’t had any done since they got married. This family is close to my heart. Jeremy and I happen to be first cousins. We’ve known each other since we were babies. We’ve kind of gotten to watch each other grow up.  And because we are family, I’ve gotten to watch their daughter, Jayda, grow also.  She is beautiful and sassy and a great mix of her mom and dad.  But it seems like yesterday that I found out that Jeremy and Jessica were going to have a baby.  It amazes me how fast time flies

Jeremy and Jessica, your family is beautiful and I’m grateful that you asked me to be your photographer. I love you guys!

Hermitage, AR Wedding: Justin and Selena

The day was cloudy and rainy. One might even say gloomy. But Justin and Selena certainly weren’t acting like it. It was their wedding day. It was the day they were going to pledge their love to each other. The day that they were all going to become a family. They had waited for and counted down until this day. When I got there, everyone was busy getting ready and Selena was putting on the finishing touches. She looked absolutely beautiful! Her make up was perfect along with her hair and dress. Justing was ready and all smiles. When they were both ready, there was an amazing break in the rain and we got to go outside. These two love each other very much and you can see it when they look into each other’s eyes.

Justin and Selena, I wish the both of you a very happy marriage and lots of love. Thank you for letting me be apart of your day and lives.

My Rainbow Baby is 2!!!

I had never heard the term “Rainbow Baby” until my children, my husband and I had lost 3 babies.  Two to miscarriage at five weeks and the last one to stillbirth at 20 weeks.  It was definitely a dark time in our lives.  And I say my family because it wasn’t just my loss or mine and my husband’s loss.  My children suffered as well.  The look on their faces and the tears that followed after we told them was truly heart breaking.  After the last one was when I first heard the words, Rainbow baby.

The definition of Rainbow Baby is:
A “rainbow baby” is a baby that is born following a miscarriage or still birth.

In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.

The storm (pregnancy loss) has already happened and nothing can change that experience. Storm-clouds might still be overhead as the family continue to cope with the loss, but something colorful and bright has emerged from the darkness and misery.

My Rainbow Baby, Huck, turned 2 on the 16th of September and I am loving every second with my gift. Every single thing he does. Laughs, cries, and even the tantrums. I am absolutely grateful for it all. I know how precious life is and how quickly it can disappear.

This session was a bit of a challenge to say the least. My baby boy is so so busy and he does not stay in one place for very long at all. He loves the dirt and construction vehicles. He loves water and getting muddy. He loves his siblings and he loves his mom and dad very much. To see his sweet face every morning when we wake up is one of the best parts of my day. And the way he looks up at me and smiles melts my heart every. single. time.

Because he loves construction, I decided to let him do what he does really well…Play in the dirt. And he did a very good job.

H (2)H (4)H (7)H (13)H (17)H (18)H (20)H (26)H (27)H (30)H (33)

His bath water was pretty dirty that evening, but he had a blast that day. I encourage you to let your kids play in the dirt and mud. Let them be kids. Because dirt washes off, and they don’t stay little. Til next time.

Warren Senior Session: Kailey

Quite a few years ago, my husband and I were going to a local church a few miles away.  There were many nice families and we have a lot of great memories.  Among those, are memories of a little girl who was small, happy and had long black hair.  She was so cute too.  Her name was Kailey.  She was sweet and kind.  But as kids do, she grew.  She made her way through school and she finally reached her senior year.  When her mom asked me to do a few photos for Kailey with her horses, I was thrilled.  We had a great time!  When animals are involved, photo sessions always become more interesting.  You never know what’s going to happen.  One of the horses was a little spirited, but it was entertaining.

Kailey, you are a beautiful person and I’m excited to see where life is taking you.

Warren, AR-Captain Cast Party and Premiere

So we all know it takes a whole lot of work to put together something as big as a full length film. And usually there are crews that help and get paid to do just that. Crews of probably hundreds, by the time you count the studio, directors, producers, and actors. So think about this. One guy. One guy who did the work of so many. He found the actors, selected the music, found the producers, researched the story, and so many more steps that it takes to put together a film. So many, that if I tried to list them all, it would take up this whole post. That guys name is Rob Reep.
He is a one man wrecking crew who took on all of those jobs and put out the film, “Captian”, which premiered this past Saturday. It is a big deal and our little town was buzzing with excitement and anticipation. We all couldn’t wait to view the finished product.  Rob brought the idea up to his mom around three years ago and they got the ball rolling.  And I just want to give a huge shout out to everyone that worked on the film. So many volunteered their time and talents to help Rob realize a dream. For those of you that didn’t get to attend the premiere, you can buy a copy of the DVD for $20.00 from Rob.
Rob you did a fantastic job! We all can’t wait to see what you come up with next! Congratulations!
