To say it was a warm day is an understatement. More like hot and steamy, but not in a good way ;). The kind of day where if you walk outside, you would have to go back inside and reapply you makeup. It was a typical Arkansas, end-of-June day. None the less, it was Matthew and Annslie’s wedding day. It was the day that they were going to get to join their hearts and lives together forever. With Annslie squished in the back seat of her own car, myself in the passenger’s seat, and the maid of honor driving, we headed to the venue. The wedding was being held at the Royal Ridge Barns. Walking in was beautiful! A large chandelier hung right over the center of the dance floor. Around that were tables with smaller chandeliers hanging over them. It looked like it belonged in a magazine. As we all headed to the bridal suite, I looked to my right and saw the place where the couple would say their vows. The view was breath taking!
Soon after, hair and make up were being done. There were laughs and tears and many more emotions. As you would expect on a wedding day. Final touches were made and the bride was helped into her dress. It fit perfectly! Annslie was glowing.
Despite the heat, Matthew and Annslie had a fantastic day. The vows were said in a meaningful ceremony as the couple was surrounded by their friends and family. It was perfect.
Matthew and Annslie, I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. Thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of your day. It was an amazing weekend that I’ll never forget and will always treasure. You guys are perfect for one another and I look forward to seeing what life has in store for you. Congratulations!
Annslie’s mother passed away when Annslie was young and it was beautiful to see her memory honored by a framed photo and a long-stemmed rose. It was also very emotional.
It was an excellent time! Until next time.
Do Well and Do Good,
Kassie had been invited to go to the lake by her brother and his girlfriend. She was sitting and having good conversations when Parker pulled up. The second she saw him, she got butterflies in her stomach. Parker was shy and didn’t say much. Later that evening after he had gone, Kassie sent him a message on Facebook to make sure he had gotten home okay. That led to more talking and plans to spend time together. However, Kassie had some reservations about the possible relationship due to a small age difference. But she soon knew that it didn’t matter. All of the laughing and smiling she did took care of those reservations very quickly. Soon they were talking every day and spending as much time together as their schedules would allow. Not long after, Parker was introduced to Kassie’s son, Spencer, and the two hit it off. Her heart was happy. So happy that she loved him. She didn’t want to say it first because sometimes we girls are a little afraid. But Parker quickly confirmed her feelings by telling her he loved her. They both knew that they were going to get married and it wasn’t long until she was looking up ideas on Pinterest. Not only had Kassie fallen in love with Parker, but with his son, Holden, as well.
Kassie is a dispatcher at the police department and the day Parker proposed, she was working. Kassie had gotten the message the Parker had been arrested for getting into a fight with someone. She quickly got back to where he was and of course she was upset. He was sitting there in handcuffs. As soon as the handcuffs were removed, Parker went down on one knee and the rest is history.
Parker and Kassie, I am so excited that I am getting to take this journey with you guys. It’s an honor to know both of you and I think your boys are absolutely precious! Thank you for asking me to be apart of your lives. I can’t wait to see what life has in store for both of you!
Til next time.
Do Well and Do Good,
Ashleigh and I were introduced through a text from her aunt who happens to be married to my uncle. It let me know that Ashleigh was getting married and I should contact her and give her my wedding package information. I am usually hesitant to put myself out there in hopes of being hired. But this time, I decided to go for it. It was a text after all and the worst that could happen was getting a ‘No thank you’ back. Thankfully that didn’t happen. After texting back and forth for a few days, Nathan and Ashleigh decided to hire me to capture their big day. When I met them in person not to long after that, I knew that we were going to be a great fit. Their engagement session went very smoothly, in spite of rain. Umbrellas can make for a cute accessory.
The location for the wedding was beautiful. It was surrounded by flowers, green vines, and a stunning pergola. I wanted to bring the pergola home with me. The wedding was originally set to be outside, but because of forcasted rain, again, it was moved to a large room inside of the hall. The decorations were lovely. When I got there, it was sprinkling on and off and overcast. I was wondering where in the world I would take photos. But by the time Ashleigh was done getting ready, the clouds had parted and it was perfect. Photos went on without any problems. Once again, I got to witness the love and happiness between this couple. It was in their eyes and the way they looked at one another.
Nathan and Ashleigh, I am greatful that I’ve gotten to know both of you and thankful that I got to be apart of your day. Cheers!
Till next time.
Do Well and Do Good
There are times in life when we get to know people when we are young. Then you lose track of them and then later in your life, they are back. For some people it’s family and for others, it’s friends. That’s the way it was with Annslie and I. She and I first met when were around eight. Then, because of moving around with my family, I lost track of her. Around ten or eleven years ago, my husband and I moved back to where I am from. Probably five years after that, I saw her across the room in a restaurant, but I didn’t say hi because I didn’t think she would remember me. I have a bad habit of doing that. Then a couple of years after that, she was at a mutual friends house and she did remember me. She is a blessing and I’m blessed to know her.
A little while ago I was on scrolling on Facebook and came across Annslie’s post where she was announcing her engagement. I was very excited for her. I hadn’t gotten to meet Matthew at that point, but I figured, I would soon. Then I got asked to shoot the wedding. When I met him, I figured out that he was the perfect match for her. Annslie is a very outgoing person and Matthew is quiet and reserved. The saying, opposites attract, proved to be true. I asked Annslie how she felt when they met and she said, she knew she loved him when she didn’t want to spend another minute without him. Now that, I’d say, is true love.
Annslie and Matthew, thank you for letting me be apart of these life changing events. I’m so excited and happy for both of you. I’m glad that you have both found your one and only.
Til next time.
