Monticello, AR Wedding: Brandon+Brittany

The sky was clear with the exception of a few clouds on Brandon and Brittany’s wedding day. The was a continuous breeze and the temperature was a little chilly. But that wasn’t going to stop this small, intimate ceremony outside of their family church. The chairs and haybales were set up, waiting for the guests to arrive. Brandon and Brittany were beginning the day that was going to start their lives together, forever.
The reception hall was almost ready and so were the girls. Finishing touches were being put in place. I could feel the excitement as the bridesmaids helped Brittany into her gown. She was more than ready to make Brandon hers.

The guys were a little more rowdy, but very cooperative, which is always a good thing. It was easy to laugh while hanging around this bunch. I could tell it was going to be a great day!

Hot Springs Bridal Session: Brittany Brooks

I recently had the privilege of shooting a bridal session in Hot Springs a few weeks ago. Now, if you don’t know anything about Hot Springs, you should definitely do yourself a favor and Google it. It’s a beautiful city with beautiful places to shoot. The main thing it’s famous for is it’s namesake, the hot springs. At one time, people came from far and wide because they believed the springs were medicinal. The main strip has the nickname “Bath House Row” due to the fact that it’s lined with bath houses. If you decide to visit one, you’ll find out it’s like a spa. I, myself, have never been in one, so I can’t tell you exactly what happens. But every year, thousands of people come to visit Bath House Row and see the other things that Hot Springs has to offer.

When Brittany brought up the idea of Hot Springs and the destination for her Bridal shoot, I got excited. I’ve always wanted to add it to my portfolio. I knew we were going to get some great shots. I was not disappointed.

Our first stop was Garvan Garden’s. It’s a large plot of land where you can walk through and admire the plants, flowers, and the architecture.

After we were done there, we decided to go into the city and shoot on Bath House Row. I finally got to shoot at the Arlington Hotel. Their lobby is gorgeous and includes a couple of great staircases.

I hope to get to shoot in Hot Springs again very soon. Make sure you keep your eyes open for Brittany and Brandon’s wedding day!

Til next time.

Little Rock, AR Wedding: Tyler+Brittany

Last year I was asked to shoot a wedding for a couple in Star City, Rick and Kara. I had a great time and they treated me like a true friend. During that time, I met Tyler and Brittany, who happens to be the bride’s sister. I didn’t get to talk personally with them much because I was so busy, but I could tell they were good people. Earlier this year, I received a text from Janie, Kara and Brittany’s mother. Tyler and Brittany were getting married in April and they wanted to hire me to shoot the wedding. Of course I accepted. I love this family!

The location was at The Old Mill in Little Rock. It’s historic and absolutely beautiful! So many shoots take place every year. Lots of weddings, prom shoots, and even school photos. It’s not a bad backdrop at all.
Tyler and Brittany, it was an honor to be apart of your day and I wish you guys nothing but the best.

The Old Mill in Little Rock is gorgeous!  A true landmark!

I absolutely love the emotion here.  Janie decided to give Brittany her promise ring that she had received from Brittany’s dad 30 years ago.  This was her “something old”.

Star City, AR Wedding: Rick+Kara

The weather was beautiful and the day seemed perfect for a wedding. It’s a good thing too, cause this was the day that Rick and Kara were going to promise to love each other forever. A pond and a rustic setting is what I saw when I drove up to the venue. There were still many people working tirelessly to put the finishing touches on the decorations. They wanted to make it perfect for the bride and groom. And from what I saw they were doing a fantastic job. Not only were finishing touches being put on outside, but inside as well. Kara was putting on her dress. She was making sure her make up was perfect and every hair was in place. She was surrounded by loved ones. And she couldn’t wait to walk down the aisle to meet her groom. A man that she loves unconditionally and without question. They changed each other’s lives and it was an honor to be able to be apart of it, if even for only one day.

Rick and Kara, thank you! Thank you for letting me be me. Thank you for letting me capture the love between the two of you. It was absolutely my pleasure and I look forward to seeing your lives grow as one.

Crossett, AR Wedding: Parker+Kassie

Lots of trees and rustic buildings. That was the first thing that was seen as I drove down the long drive way. What greeted me was the cutest little cabin where the bridal party would be getting ready. If Kassie was at all nervous, you couldn’t tell. In fact, she was probably the calmest bride I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. The whole bridal party was pretty laid back. All of the normal things that happen on a wedding day were in motion. Hair, make up, and everything else that takes place when girls are getting ready to be apart of a wedding. The sounds coming from the bridal suite were everything you’d expect.
This was the day Parker and Kassie pleged to love each other forever. This was the time that they promised to stick together through thick and thin. Laughs, love, and fullness is what the future promised and today was when it all started.

Parker and Kassie, thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the opportunity to be apart of the milestone in your lives. I know big things are going to happen for you and your family and I can’t wait to see them happen!

This was a very special set of jewelery. Kassie’s mom wore the same earrings and necklace on her wedding day and passed them on the Kassie so that she could wear them.

Kassie also decided to take her mom’s dress and have it altered so that she could wear it to walk down the aisle.

Right before the ceremony it started to pour. I mean thunder and lightening. I think we were all praying that it would leave quickly. Thankfully God answers prayers and it did just that, but the family had decided to put up a few tents to make sure the bride and groom were still able to have it outside. 2016-09-15_0019.jpg

A Fairytale Wedding-Bradley and Kelly

Her colors were in the shades of pink and cream. His suit was a great hue of gray and nicely pressed. Her dress was Vera Wang and her make-up was perfect. She was beautiful and he was handsome. All the makings for the perfect day. These are the details describing Bradley and Kelly’s wedding. They couldn’t wait to say “I do”. And it was right around the corner.

The day went off without a hitch. The men in their suits and the girls in their matching dresses. Everything was perfect. With her hair pinned up just right and her dress flowing out around her, Kelly was stunning and she was ready to walk down that aisle. And at the end, was her prince charming. Bradley waited patiently as each parent and attendant walked out first. The doors shut and the congregation stood. Everyone seemed to hold their breath as they waited for the doors to open. But no one, more than Bradley. Finally he saw his bride walking towards him and all was right. They said their “I do’s”, kissed, and danced out to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m yours”. It couldn’t have gone any better.

These two have a love between them that is perfect and they were made for each other. It has been a pleasure to watch them grow as a couple and to see how they are striving to keep God as the center of their marriage. Bradley and Kelly, I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity to capture your milestones with my camera. Couples like you are the reason I started doing what I do. With all my heart, thank you!
